Leadership and ancillary roles (traditional committees or self-generated) have been consistent throughout the course of my 17 year nursing career, with the themes of policy change, advocacy, and wellness in addition to current clinical best practice.

  • 2020-22- DNV Accreditation and CMS standards. Member of Accreditation Committee and responsible for updating and ensuring CMS compliance for all aspects of anesthesia.  Wrote Corrective Action Plans and implemented process changes  when delinquencies were found.

  • 2020-22- Responsible for all policy and procedures related to anesthesia. Evaluated and maintained current policies; developed new policies while working with stakeholders across departments.

  • 2021-22 Employee Engagement Committee (Organized softball games, various retirement/baby/wedding parties, and made bulletin boards that highlighted different departments and their roles)

  • 2020-22 Evaluated and reported bi-annually anesthesia related adverse events (CMS defined) for the review by Quality Committee.

  • 2020- Legislative Advocate. Lobby State House Representative for increased rural access to care and funding for nursing education.

  • 2020- Mindful Self Compassion for Healthcare Professionals Course (tools of mindfulness and self compassion that allows providers to experience greater satisfaction in their caregiving roles, less stress, and more emotional resilience.)

  • 2020-22 Liaison to local EMS and Community College to facilitate intubation opportunities.

  • 2017-2022 Conducted monthly Performance Improvement Audits on anesthesia colleagues.

  • 2015-17 Advanced Practice Nursing Council CRNA representative. (10 hospital system, only anesthesia provider, provided education regarding role and scope of practice.)

  • 2014  Medical Spanish Conference working towards my professional goal of being a medical translator.

  • 2012-16 National Nurse Anesthetist Week (NAW) coordinator  (Educated OR staff and ICU nurses of the role of the nurse anesthetist and to familiarize them with the current CRNA’s in house.)

  • 2012-13- CRNA liaison for developing Moderate Sedation simulation training for MedStar Health System (10 hospitals.)
